This was not the expected bounce-back game for the Steelers running back. He was often stopped at the line of scrimmage, and Pittsburgh decided to give the ball to Jaylen Warren more than usual: Harris had 16 carries, while Warren had 11.
Harris had just 2.6 yards per carry in a game where running the ball was definitely the best option. Rain and cold were present during the entirety of the game, but there was a twist in the second half: the snow started to fall heavily, and the game's script flipped completely.
During snow games, throwing the ball becomes a more difficult task. At the same time, defenses can load up the box to better defend the running game, and unless you break up an explosive play, you're not going to make it too far. This explains why Justin Fields had an 8.7 yards-per-carry average: he broke out a 30-yard run.
Harris' counterpart, Browns running back Nick Chubb, was also far from impressive on his average, with just 59 yards in 20 carries. However, he was able to find the end zone twice, as the Browns pulled off a 24-19 upset to improve to 3-8.
