$300,000,000 worth NBA star alarmed at Chiefs' 'nasty' NFL Christmas schedule

The Kansas City Chiefs will play on Christmas Day for the second consecutive season. This year, though, the game will be played on a Wednesday afternoon, which makes the NFL scheduling a little tricky.

NBA star Kevin Durant, who has a net worth of $300 million (per Celebrity Net Worth), was disappointed by that scheduling. On Thursday's episode of "Up and Adams," he discussed Patrick Mahomes' ankle injury and whether he believes he should play. He noted that the Chiefs will take on the Houston Texans on Saturday.

Adams reminded him it will be a quick turnaround as they travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers on Christmas Day. Durant then expressed his dislike for the schedule.

“That is nasty. Saturday and Wednesday games?” Durant said.

All four teams playing on Christmas Day will play their Week 16 matchups on Saturday afternoon. The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET, and the Houston Texans will host the Baltimore Ravens at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Kevin Durant has some advice for the Chiefs regarding Patrick Mahomes injury

Three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns. Mahomes is expected to play against the Houston Texans this week.

On Thursday, NBA star Kevin Durant said:

“They’re 12-2. I don’t think he should play this week. It’s a high-ankle sprain which is worse than a regular ankle sprain. I think he should take a week off and get his body right and get ready for the playoffs. I feel like they can win anywhere."

Durant said that a high ankle sprain is worse than a regular ankle sprain and that daily monitoring for that type of injury is key for a full recovery.

"You got to monitor him every single day. If you got a slight limp, we’re not going to force it this week. What’s more important? The health of Patrick Mahomes or trying to lock up the one seed? You got to protect the players from themselves at this point of the season because you’re looking at the bigger picture.”

As of right now, Mahomes is expected to play against the Texans on Saturday afternoon.
