3x Pro Bowl RB clowns Daniel Jones’ Giants offense
Three-time Pro Bowl running back Le'Veon Bell took aim at Daniel Jones and the New York Giants offense.
Jones is entering his sixth season as the Giants quarterback after the team selected him sixth overall in the 2019 NFL draft. He's set to count for over $47 million against the cap, despite his struggles.
Entering the 2024 season, it appears to be do-or-die for Jones, as, if he struggles again, New York does have an out in his contract after this season. Ahead of the season, Le'Veon Bell took aim at the Giants offense as he expects it to struggle with Jones as the starting quarterback.
"Daniel Jones," Bell wrote followed by a laughing face.
Jones played in just six games last season due to injury, as he went 108-for-160 for 909 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions. It was a disappointing season for Jones who hasn't been a franchise quarterback as New York had hoped.
Daniel Jones explains being involved in a fight at practice
The New York Giants and Detroit Lions have been doing joint practices. On Monday, there was a fight between the two teams.
To some surprise, Jones got involved in the altercation as he said he needed to stand up for his teammates.
"I mean, situation happens like that, you try to stand up for your guys but I thought it was a good competitive practice all day today," Jones said, via NFL.com. "We made some plays and did some good things, there's some things we need to [shore] up for sure. But good intensity and competitive spirit there."
Despite the fight, Daniel Jones feels like practice has been going well for New York and the offense.
"I think that's the goal every day you come out to practice, whether you're practicing against another team or yourself is to feel better and more confident at the end of the day," Jones said on Monday. "I think we did that, I think we made some plays, executed well throughout the day. Like I said, there's some things we want back and things we could do better for sure but overall I thought we played tough, played physical, and executed well."
Jones and the Giants are set to open the 2024 season at home on Sept. 8 against the Minnesota Vikings.
