$7,000,000,000 organization to cover Jalen Hurts' Week 15 fine: Report
Jalen Hurts is getting covered by the Jordan Brand after the NFL fined him for his in-game fit against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The veteran quarterback wore the same cleats against Pittsburgh, but one of them was a different tone of green, which caused the NFL to fine him $5,628 for violating the league’s uniform policy.
Nice Kicks reported on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday that the company he's signed with will handle the fine.
"We’re paying the fine. You can’t ban greatness," the company said in a statement.
This isn't new for the Jordan Brand or Nike. They made a similar decision when a rookie Michael Jordan wore the Retro 1 and the NBA fined him for violating their uniform policy.
The fine isn't big given how much money Air Jordan makes yearly, but the gesture is still nice. Hurts had a solid game while wearing those cleats, reconnecting with his wide receivers in the 27–13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. He completed 25 of 32 pass attempts for 290 yards and two touchdowns. Hurts fed AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith one week after the former showed his discomfort with the lack of attention the receivers suffered in recent games.
Brown caught eight passes for 110 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Smith caught 11 passes for 109 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Jalen Hurts paid respect to Michael Jordan while talking with Arch Manning's father
On Sunday's edition of "The Manning Hour" on FOX, Cooper Manning, father of Arch Manning, hosted Jalen Hurts for an interview. The veteran quarterback paid tribute to the six-time NBA champion and discussed his impact on the world.
"It means everything," Hurts said. "What Jordan has been able to establish and the impact he's had on the sports culture. To be able to represent that in this time, being an example to those watching now is great."
Hurts is a member of the Jordan Brand before the 2023 NFL season. He's among big stars, including Davante Adams, Dak Prescott, Maxx Crosby and Puka Nacua.
The Philadelphia Eagles are rolling this 2024 NFL season and Jalen Hurts has played an integral role in their early success. They'll clash against the Washington Commanders on Sunday with a big chance to clinch the NFC East title.
