Aaron Rodgers claims conspiracy is afoot to manufacture rift with Jets HC Robert Saleh
Rumors of a potential rift between Aaron Rodgers and Jets head coach Robert Saleh have picked up. This started after their game against the Denver Broncos, where Rodgers apparently threw shade at Saleh.
However, the quarterback has repeatedly shut down rumors about a possible issue.
"His answer didn't actually reflect his feelings," Rodgers said via The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt. "Cadence has been a weapon ... there's some driving force outside the facility to put a wedge between Robert and I but we're great friends. We have a great relationship."
Earlier this week, Rodgers spoke about the same while on the Pat McAfee Show.
"You can ride the wave, really a roller coaster, or you can say, F**k it. I don't care. And I'm the latter," Rodgers said.
He added details about their relationship, speaking of their various conversations even outside of football.
"Rob and I have a great relationship," Rodgers added. "We have since day one, when I got here. You know, we have, you know, text message conversations, threads that were in conversations about a number of different topics outside of football, had a good friendship."
Jets HC Robert Saleh shut down rumors about rift with Aaron Rodgers
Following the 10-9 narrow loss against the Broncos, Rodgers spoke about the team's need to move away from distractions. Saleh added that the team should keep up with the QB's cadences.
However, the HC addressed the situation head-on:
"There is no cadence issue. There never was a cadence issue. That was created. Aaron and I are fantastic. Love the guy."
Rodgers, though impressive, could be struggling to build a connection with his relatively younger team.
That being said, the Jets have had a decent 2-2 start to the 2024 season. The team will face the undefeated Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
