Aaron Rodgers feels confident about his chances of returning in 2023, but not with Packers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has given a little insight into what still needs to happen if he is to play a 19th season in the NFL. Much like last season, Rodgers and his playing future will be a topic of hot discussion this offseason.

The four-time MVP winner endured an up-and-down 2022 season with the Packers. They were ultimately defeated by the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field as their season came to a sour end.

Who are the current Super Bowl favorites?

As for playing in 2023, Rodgers, as always, is keeping things close to the vest. On his weekly spot on The Pat McAfee Show, the quarterback talked about what will happen this offseason.

He said:

"Do I still think I can play? Of course. Can I play at a high level? Yeah. The highest. I think I can win MVP again in the right situation. Right situation, is that Green Bay or is that somewhere else? I'm not sure. But I don't think you should shut down any opportunity."

The veteran added:

"But like I said during the season, it's got to be both sides actually wanting to work together moving forward. I think there's more conversations to be had. I think no player wants to be part of any type of rebuild. I said that years ago. Reloads are a lot of fun because you feel like you're close, you're only a couple guys away."

Could Aaron Rodgers return to Green Bay in 2023?

There is a chance the quarterback could return to the Packers in 2023. Ultimately, it will be down to if he wants to and if the Packers organization wants him to.

The Jordan Love situation needs to be sorted out. Will Green Bay part ways with their star quarterback to get a good look at Love? Or will they trade him away and try to give Rodgers some more offensive weapons?

The offseason will be an interesting watch with so many quarterbacks likely on the move. But one player takes interest over everything else -- No. 12.
