Aaron Rodgers' former teammate highlights Jets' issue after Robert Saleh got fired: "He has too much input"

For the last few months, there were rumors of a disconnect between Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh. Both denied any tension between them; however, after the New York Jets fired Robert Saleh on Tuesday, some are left wondering what went wrong.

The amount of input and say that Aaron Rodgers has in the operations of the New York Jets has become a hot topic. Rodgers' former Green Bay Packers teammate, Greg Jennings, said on "The Breakfast Ball" on Wednesday that he believes Rodgers has too much say when it comes to making decisions in the organization.

"That's the biggest issue, this is all about Aaron Rodgers," Jennings said.
"And when you have empowered a player in the way that they have, and this goes from Robert Saleh to Hackett, obviously, and all the way up to Woody Johnson, because for them to have a conversation, it tells me that he has too much say, he has too much input on things that he really shouldn't have input on."

Greg Jennings said everyone from Robert Saleh to offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and even owner Woody Johnson has given the quarterback way too much power. Jennings and Rodgers were teammates on the Green Bay Packers from 2006 until 2012.

Jets interim HC calls Aaron Rodgers a "vital resource" moving forward

Defensive coordinator turned interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said on Tuesday that he had spoken to the quarterback and that he will consider him a "vital resource" in making changes in the offense.

Ulbrich also said that he has a good rapport with the 40-year-old quarterback and that he will lean on him in making decisions about the offense.

"I have a good relationship with Aaron," Ulbrich told reporters at his introductory press conference. "He is, he's one of those guys that has ... he has just unbelievable experience and he's seen this game at the highest level for a long time.
"So he's a guy with a lot of ideas and really positive feedback about a lot of different things, whether it be meetings, practice, game-planning, scheduling, all of it. So, he will be a vital resource for me in that way, for sure."

The New York Jets are 2-3, tied for second in the AFC East, one game behind the Buffalo Bills.
