Aaron Rodgers' former teammate weighs in on New York Jets' Super Bowl odds
Although the New York Jets' cold numbers tell a different story, Aaron Rodgers' former teammate Marquez Valdes-Scantling is extremely optimistic about the Jets' Super Bowl chances.
Speaking with Kay Adams on the "Up and Adams" podcast, Valdes-Scantling said Rodgers' competitive edge is enough for the Jets to have championship aspirations.
"With that guy, you always got a shot," he said and referred to Rodgers as “the best to ever play this game at the quarterback position.”
As per the latest report by Fox Sports, the chances of the Jets taking home the Super Bowl is a mere 0.4%, with sportsbooks putting the current odds at +25000.
The New York Jets are having a challenging NFL season and they are currently sitting at 3-7. Therefore, an uphill battle is unavoidable to just secure a playoff spot, let alone compete for the Super Bowl.
That said, it is not just the record that is a predicament for the Jets. One look at the point differential shows how there are issues on both sides of the ball – they have allowed 214 points while scoring 177. Moreover, road games were especially tough (1-5 record), which proves their inability to perform away from home turf. Additionally, the New York Jets' decision to fire Robert Saleh has made things worse.

Last month, after Jets' former HC, Robert Saleh, was fired, DC Jeff Ulbrich was made the Jets' interim head coach.
Now, Jon Gruden, who is currently working as an advisor for ELF's Milano Seamen, is being reportedly considered for the head coaching position of the New York Jets. However, if any moves are made at all from the Jets' end, the official hiring will only take place in the offseason.
Gruden also has vast experience in the NFL. Previously, he worked with the Green Bay Packers as an offensive assistant in 1992. After this, he became the wide receivers coach for the team from 1993 to 1994.
Next, Gruden joined the Eagles as an OC and worked in the team between 1995-1997. After this, he joined the Raiders as a head coach and worked between 1998-2001.
Thereafter, Gruden landed in Tampa Bay and led the team as a head coach between 2002-2008 – during which he also won a Super Bowl.
In the last few years of working in the NFL, Gruden was the head coach of the Raiders between 2018 and 2021 before shortly joining as a consultant in the New Orleans Saints.
Well, the last head coaching stint in the NFL did not end amicably for Gruden. A New York Times report exposed his inflammatory emails from 2011 to 2018 to then-Washintong GM, Bruce Allen, filled with racist, misogynistic and homophobic remarks. After this, Gruden stepped down from his HC role with the Raiders on October 11, 2021.
Unfortunately, Gruden faced more consequences as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers removed him from their Ring of Honor over this incident.
