"I guess it pays to be immunized, right?" - Aaron Rodgers hits back after beating COVID and back-to-back NFL MVP wins
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has had his detractors over the whole COVID vaccination fiasco. By now, most of us know what went down with the Packers star saying he was "immunized" against the virus.
What followed was a tirade of abuse hurled at the four-time NFL MVP as many did not like the fact that he misled the media and millions of people.
Who are the current Super Bowl favorites?
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show in his weekly spot, Rodgers had a little message for the haters out there. He also finished with a nice little dig at all the people who gave him abuse for being immunized.
“Yeah, I mean, I dealt with some, obviously the stuff that we talked about on the show. I avoided some of the major injuries like COVID too and some other stuff. Listen, after I went through the winter of death, and survived, everything since then has been easy."
Rodgers added:
"So I'm really, really thankful. I mean, who can say that they won MVP of COVID. Thank you. We had two years of COVID and that's the years I was MVP. Back-to-back. And I dealt with COVID too and I'm a COVID survivor. I guess it pays to be immunized, right?”
Clearly tongue-in-cheek from the Packers star and we wait to see how many people this will get riled up.
What's in store for Aaron Rodgers in 2023?
Like last offseason, the Packers star will take his time and figure out what his next move is. Will it be a return to Green Bay? Or will he offer himself to other teams or is there a third option? Retirement.
Given the gravity of the decision, we fully expect this to drag on for quite some time. The Packers also have a decision to make. Do they try and convince Rodgers to stay another season, or do they hand the reigns over to Jordan Love?
Having been on the roster for a few years now, Love surely has to get an opportunity sooner rather than later.
Aaron Rodgers once again holds the power and in due time will make a decision on his playing future.
The world is waiting.
