Aaron Rodgers' last meeting with brother Luke got called off due to ex Olivia Munn

New York Jets' star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been on bad terms with family for more than nine years. While Rodgers' parents, Ed and Darla, blame ex-girlfriend Olivia Munn for their broken ties, his brother Luke has other reasons.

However, the reason why Aaron and Luke didn't meet for one last time had something to do with Olivia Munn. As revealed by Ian O'Conner in Aaron Rodgers' biography "Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers," things were good between the brothers during the quarterback's early NFL days.

In fact, Aaron and Luke started an apparel company called Pro Merch, which used to sell shirts with the quarterback's face on them. However, things became complex between the brothers as Aaron didn't share the same interest in the business as Luke.

According to Ian O'Connor, the apparel brand sold "tens of thousands" of Aaron Rodgers-themed shirts. However, the quarterback said that he made nothing out of the sales.

"Well, I can tell you I've seen zero of that money," Rodgers said per O'Connor (per USA Magazine).

The quarterback eventually distanced himself from the business, but the nail in the coffin for Aaron was Luke's appearance in 2012's Clean Break series. O'Connor revealed that the quarterback was unimpressed by his brother's decision. Talking about the same, the author said:

"Aaron was annoyed by the notion that Luke needed to break free from his shadow after he provided him with financial support."

Interestingly, Luke agreed to sit down with his brother and sort things out in 2015. However, the Jets quarterback refused the meeting, stating that he had to meet then-girlfriend Olivia Munn at the sets of a movie she was shooting.

According to the author, Rodgers sent a text to Luke saying that he was:

"committed to his girlfriend and unavailable to meet."

That was reportedly the last communication between the brothers, who haven't seen each other for nine years now.

Aaron Rodgers accidentally met his father Ed in 2023

While Aaron Rodgers hasn't met his brother for nine years, it's not the same for his father, Ed. In his biography, Rodgers revealed how he accidentally came across his father during a celebrity golf game at Lake Tahoe in 2023. When Rodgers saw father Ed, he was in a dilemma about approaching him.

"I could do a lot of things. But I just thought, 'What's best in this moment, and what kind of gift could I give him?' Because I do love him. I don't have animosity toward him, even with all the stuff that's been said and done," Rodgers recalled to Ian O'Conner.

Eventually, Rodgers approached Ed, and the couple exchanged "I love you." That was reportedly the last time the two saw each other. As for his mother, she too blames the quarterback's ex, Olivia Munn, for broken ties with her son.
