Aaron Rodgers makes a huge trade admission as Packers continue to struggle following Davante Adams' exit

For Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, the 2022 NFL season has so far been a far cry from the success he has enjoyed over the past few years. Pairing up with Davante Adams, the duo were one of the most feared offensive pairings in the NFL.

But since Adams' departure, things have gone a little cold in Green Bay. Gone are the days of the Packers dropping a 30-bomb on almost every other game day. Staring at mediocrity, Rodgers made an interesting comment about future trades following the defeat to the New York Jets. Here's what he said during the postgame interview:

"Brian (Gutekunst) and I have had a number of conversations. I trust him and his staff. If they feel like they need to add, they will."

Gutekunst, who is now in his fifth year as Packers GM, is definitely feeling the pressure. Fans have implored the front office to plug the gaping hole left by Adams' trade to the Las Vegas Raiders. Rodgers went on to admit that if a certain player who can help elevate the Packers' roster is available, he definitely sees his team being in the mix.

"There’s the possibility if certain guys emerge of us having a chance to make a run. I know Brian believes the same thing. But if there’s an opportunity, I would expect that Brian will be in the mix."

NFL players Packers should sign to boost their chances of winning Super Bowl 57

The Packers are in need of reinforcements, especially when it comes to wide receivers. Their wideout room consists of a mix of players like Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and rookie Christian Watson. The missing piece in the Packers puzzle seems to be the lack of a superstar wide receiver to propel their game to the next level.

Let's take a look at two such stars the franchise should definitely consider signing to aid their odds of claiming Super Bowl 57:

#1 - D.J. Moore

Carolina Panthers receiver D.J. Moore has quietly been building a reputation for himself as one of the most consistent wide receivers in the league. Averaging over 1,000 receiving yards across his first five seasons, Moore's only drawback is perhaps a lack of opportunities. He just hasn't had the chance to show he has the goods to deliver in the playoffs. Signing with the Packers would surely boost his chances of doing so, but the franchise should expect to pay a premium for him.

#2 - Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. has been repeatedly linked with the franchise over the course of the offseason and the ensuing 2022 NFL season. OBJ proved himself over the course of the past season after being cut by the Cleveland Browns.

Joining the Los Angeles Rams, Beckham was explosive from the get-go and could well have won the Super Bowl MVP award. However, an ACL injury took him out early on in the big game. Currently a free agent, signing OBJ would be a no-brainer for Green Bay. The only concern is making sure he remains fit to play.
