Aaron Rodgers makes shock admission regarding NFL team he wanted to suit up for in 2022 if Packers return went sideways

In the 2022 offseason, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers did not recreate the 2021 drama regarding the quarterback's future. The quarterback signed a new contract in March and put an end to any speculation regarding a possible trade or retirement.

However, that doesn't mean his future is forever set in Green Bay. With a disappointing 2022 season and Jordan Love on the wings, rumors about a different challenge for 2023 will only grow bigger as the season ends.

Of all the possibilities, one team might jump out as favorites after the quarterback joined Serge Ibaka on How Hungry Are You? and spoke about his career. He said that had he left Green Bay this previous offseason, he would've wanted to play for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Aaron Rodgers admits he would’ve joined the Raiders if the Packers didn't renew his contract

During Ibaka's show, Rodgers was entitled to answer some "spicy questions," where he'd have to drink a shot if he chose not to answer a question from Ibaka.

The first question was what team would the quarterback like to join if he decided not to return to the Packers following the 2021 season. His first answer was a surprise: CFL's Toronto Argonauts.

Ibaka doubled down on the question, saying that he'd have to choose an NFL team. Among laughter from both guys, Rodgers stated, "The Oakland Raiders," which, of course, are now the Las Vegas Raiders.

The quarterback interestingly also explained why wide receiver Davante Adams left the outfit, saying:

"It was his desire to have a new, fresh start. There was unknown about my future, I didn't know how long I was gonna be here, and I think he loved playing with me, and didn't want to sit locked in a long-term deal here if I wasn't gonna be on the long-term plans with the team - or in my own mind."

We can all speculate on what other possible reasons may have led the quarterback to entertain the possibility of playing for the Raiders. However, at the end of the day, he signed a huge contract with the Packers that made it difficult for Green Bay to trade him to another team.

To see a player of Rodgers' caliber openly admit that he would like to play for another team remains interesting in itself.
