Aaron Rodgers offers a tongue-in-cheek response to rumors of NFL being scripted
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers gave a sly response to the thought of the NFL being scripted. Over the last few weeks, rumors have snowballed over the league being scripted due to certain events that have happened throughout the year.
Now, that likely isn't the case, but that hasn't stopped fans from plucking out certain things that have happened over the years. If you are into controversies, then there are a lot of threads to pull.
Who are the current Super Bowl favorites?
For Rodgers, he was on "The Pat McAfee Show" in his weekly spot, and the topic surrounding the Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs came up to which Rodgers said he didn't read the "scripts," but he said that he did read the ones that had him as the league's MVP.
βThose(MVP season scripts) are fun scripts to read," Rodgers said. "I read those I didn't. I didn't want to jinx this, so I didn't read this year. ... It was a mystery of what's going to happen this year. I don't know."
Given that quarterbacks want to make light of certain situations, he definitely had fun with the NFL being scripted.
Does NFL "script" have Rodgers playing in 2023?
Seeing what the "script-makers" have in store for the quarterback in 2023 will be fascinating viewing until a decision is reached. Having reportedly been close to retiring last offseason as he said it was 50/50 on whether he would play on again, will he finally pull the trigger this offseason?
Still with plenty to offer in terms of quarterback play, Rodgers could have his pick of suitors should he decide to ply his trade elsewhere. But where would that be? The Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans have been rumored to be potential destinations, but any move would require a trade.
Given the quarterback's huge salary, a team would need significant cap space to make a move happen. Lots of teams need a quarterback of Rodgers' caliber, but given the financial aspects that come with acquiring him, any move would be tough.
Is it possible that the 2022 season will be the quarterback's final goodbye? Or do the script-makers have one more twist heading into 2023?
