Aaron Rodgers shuts down rumors of rift with Garrett Wilson after viral altercation in training camp - "It's lot of bullsh*t"
The relationship a quarterback and his wide receiver is extremely important for the success of the team; Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson were involved in animated sideline altercation during the New York Jets training camp. That went viral on social media and drew rumors of a rift between the two.
However, Rodgers was quick to shut it down. The four-time NFL MVP, on Wednesday's episode of 'Up & Adams' show hosted by Kay Adams, addressed the situation in hand and called the rumors "bullsh*t."
"It's lot of bullsh*t. There's always stories to be made up. I talked to G about this. There's appearance, and there's the reality.
"What it appears to be, gimmy take, and you can run with it. The reality was, you can't really tell, because I watched the video. The second conversation, we're kind of laughing at each other. ... So it's a whole lot of nothing in the end."
Aaron Rodgers, speaking to reporters earlier in the day, said that he shares a great relatonship with Wilson and the conversations with the Jets WR are all about getting on the same page. The four-time NFL MVP also added that he will have to get on Wilson's page to build better chemistry.
"It's about the details. It's about winning, it's about seeing what he (arrett Wilson) see. He's got to get on my page, but I gotta get on his page too, because he's got a whole book that I need to, to understand fully of skill set and ability and feel and rhythm and all the different things that he does out there."
Aaron Rodgers discusses his stance on playing in Jets preseason games
On Tuesday, New York Jets coach Robert Saleh said that his "instinct" is to not play Aaron Rodgers in all three preseason games this summer. But he also left the possibility of the Jets QB lacing up for the preseason finale against the New York Giants on Aug. 24.
Aaron Rodgers, speaking to reporters, said that he never spoke about not wanting to play in the presason games. The Jets QB added that Saleh's decision to keep him on the sidelines was "news" to him and that the two parties never had a conversation about not playing preseason games.
"That's Roberts decision. I've never told him I don't want to play in the preseason. There's a lot of thoughts about whether there's any particular gain from it.
"We used to play all the time. It wasn't even a question. ... If he decides he wants me to play against the Giants. I'll strap it up and look forward to that."
The New York Jets play their first preseason game against the Washington Commanders on August 10, 2024.
