Aaron Rodgers vs Mac Jones: Which QB is best-suited to lead Las Vegas Raiders in 2023 NFL season?

Aaron Rodgers or Mac Jones? Which quarterback would be a better fit to lead the Las Vegas Raiders for the 2023 NFL season?

The Raiders will have to find Derek Carr's replacement as they released the nine-year starter on February 14, a day before his roster bonus was due.

There are many routes the Raiders can go in finding their replacement for Carr and one of them is via trade. The two veteran quarterbacks that the Raiders are interested in are Aaron Rodgers and Mac Jones.

There's "chatter" in Indianapolis that the #Raiders might try to trade for #Patriots Mac Jones and reunite him with Josh McDaniels, per @DanGrazianoESPN

It is considered "unlikely" that New England would consider moving Mac Jones.

Rodgers is currently the favorite to land in Las Vegas if he is traded, although some media outlets such as Vic Tafur of The Athletic.com don't think the Raiders are in play. However, Dan Graziano of ESPN said otherwise.

Rodgers is also leaning towards being traded as he's undecided about his NFL future.

The Raiders are also interested in New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones. Per Graziano, there's chatter around the league that Raiders coach Josh McDaniels will try to acquire a third-year quarterback from the Pats.

McDaniels coached Jones during his rookie season in New England, where he helped lead the team to the playoffs.

Of the two veteran quarterbacks, Rodgers will likely have a better chance at leading the Raiders this season.

The Las Vegas Raiders have a roster where if they acquire Rodgers, they could become contenders. Allowing Rodgers to reunite with Davante Adams, his favorite weapon in his entire career, could create a lot of success.

He would also be on the same offense as tight end Darren Waller, wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, and the league's leading rusher in 2022, Josh Jacobs.

While Jones and McDaniels have familiarity, the former doesn't have the experience/skillset to lead a team to a championship yet.

Should Las Vegas Raiders draft a quarterback instead of trying to trade or sign for a veteran?

Should the Las Vegas Raiders try to acquire a veteran quarterback this off-season or a young guy?

They currently hold the number seven overall pick in the draft. The QB draft class is one of the best in recent years, and the Raiders could likely get a top prospect at pick number seven.

The Las Vegas Raiders could also try to trade in front of the Colts (pick No. 4) or try to trade up for the No. 1 overall pick with the Chicago Bears. As each day gets closer to the draft and the off-season, the QB moves will start to fall into place, and we'll see what the first quarterback move of the off-season is.
