"Absolutely miserable" - Kay Adams takes aim at Ravens for shooting down reporter's Lamar Jackson question

Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta refused to answer questions about quarterback Lamar Jackson amid his contract situation during the Ravens' pre-draft press conference on Wednesday.

The Ravens placed a non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson before the start of the new league year as the two sides couldn't agree to terms on a long-term deal.

When asked about Jackson, DeCosta told reporters:

"We are not going to answer Lamar questions today."

This caused Kay Adams, host of Up & Adams Show to respond to DeCosta not answering questions regarding Jackson. Adams said:

"I've always been a Raven fan. I like what they do there. They are a blue chip stock in the ecosystem, in the landscape of the things that we do and we love in football. And I understand that it's a sensitive topic. I mean, Harbaugh looks exhausted. He looks absolutely miserable about this. But this reporter, Alex Glaze of WJC in Baltimore very clearly asking about the draft, what they told and were instructed.

"Ask about the draft and how Lamar status affects what the team is going to do in the draft, trying to throw him out because he mentions Lamar's name and his question is so chaotic, and not cool. Especially, since he was asking the most important draft related question that the Ravens are going to have to face in a few weeks.

Adams then referred to the Ravens as probably drafting a quarterback due to the ongoing situation's unforeseen timetable.

"Baltimore at least has to consider drafting a quarterback in case the thing continues to go spiral and go south. And later on, Eric DeCosta, he seemed to admit as much when he was asked about the possibility of the Ravens grabbing a quarterback in the first round."

When will the Lamar Jackson-Baltimore Ravens situation end?

There is no timetable on when Lamar Jackson's contract situation will get figured out.

Of course, the Baltimore Ravens would love for Jackson to be their long-term quarterback, but at what cost? Reports surafced that Jackson turned down a three-year $133 million fully guaranteed deal from the Ravens.

Jackson is also currently on the non-exclusive franchise tag, meaning a team would have to give up two first-round picks plus give him a large contract to acquire him.

Something could happen on draft night as there are many QB-needy teams in the draft that have a lot of talent at the position.

As of right now, there aren't too many teams showing much interest in Jackson, but that could change on draft night or shortly after the draft.
