Aidan Hutchinson's sister, Mia, reshares defiant message following Lions DE’s horror injury
Detroit Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson's injury was so horrific that FOX, which was broadcasting the Lions vs Dallas Cowboys game, did not run a replay of the footage in which the injury occured.
Hutchinson managed to sack Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott, but was hit by one of his own teammates, Alim McNeil, during which his right leg fractured. He was taken to the medical tent and was examined by medical personnel.
He underwent surgery following that, but the Lions made it clear that he will not be returning this season. He currently leads the NFL in sacks at 7.5.
After the injury, his sister, Mia Hutchinson took to Instagram to reshare a story by Sarah LeBlanc, in which she shared a defiant message:
"Speramus Meliora. Resurgent Cineribus. We hope for better things and we will RISE FROM THE ASHES!!"
The two phrases in Latin that mean "we hope for better things" and "it will rise from the ashes" are the two mottos of the Detroit city that are also featured on the city's flag.
Sister Aria Hutchinson joins in asking for prayers for Aidan Hutchinson
Aidan's sister, Aria, had also reshared a post by @thehouseofhutch, Aidan's apparel brand, asking followers to pray for the quick recovery of brother Aidan. Aria is a celebrity in her own right as she won the title of Miss Michigan USA in 2022. Mia had also reshared the story.
The story featured a picture of Aidan on the field with his arm raised with the caption:
"Please pray for Aidan 💙"
After Hutchinson's injury who will replace him as Lions' DE?
James Houston, who is the backup for Hutchinson, is unfortunately dealing with an injury and will be unable to step in for Aidan Hutchinson. Nate Lynn, the second-in-line to replace him is on the IR, so he's out as well.
It seems Isaac Ukwu will be promoted from the practice squad to fill in for Hutchinson. Kyle Peko, Mekhi Wingo, and John Paschal might be moved to compensate for Hutchinson's absence.
The Lions will take on divisional rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, on Sunday. The Vikings are undefeated as of now, while the Lions have lost one game so far.
With Aidan Hutchinson gone, the Lions defense will lack its previous firepower. It remains to be seen if the team will be able to extend the three-game winning streak despite losing the starting DE.
