Anthony Richardson declares for 2023 NFL Draft

Florida Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson has declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. The news was reported on Monday as Richardson became the most recent big-name QB to declare for next year's draft.

Florida Gators QB Anthony Richardson has declared for the 2023 NFL Draft.

The 21-year-old quarterback spent three seasons with the Gators. During his freshman year, he completed one of two passes for 27 yards with a touchdown and an interception. In his second season, he appeared in eight games, recording 529 passing yards, six touchdowns, 401 rushing yards, and three touchdowns.

During his junior season, he was the full-time starter and went 6-6. He has completed 53.8 percent of his passes for 2,549 yards, 17 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He added 654 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

The six-foot-four, 230-pound quarterback possesses raw athletic ability and is able to move quickly with his feet. He has a rocket arm but just needs to be polished.

Richardson showed that he needs a lot of work done throwing the football, but with the potential he has, he could and is expected to go in the first round.

Also, is Florida going to produce three first-round picks after losing to Vanderbilt in the same season?

It's a possibility. The film says yes for O'Cyrus Torrence and the Combine could do the same for Anthony Richardson and Gervon Dexter.

Unlike last year, where only one quarterback was taken in the first round, this year's quarterback draft class is expected to be a deep one.

Top prospects include CJ Stroud, Bryce Young, Will Levis, Hendon Hooker, and Richardson.

Stroud has gone 23-3 as a starter in two full seasons at Ohio State, throwing for 7,775 yards and 81 touchdowns. He's the next big QB to come out of Ohio State.

Young won the Heisman Trophy a season ago with Alabama as he recorded 50 total touchdowns and will look to become another Bama quarterback to go in the first round.

Hendon Hooker has made a name for himself in the last two seasons for Tennessee, recording 68 total touchdowns.

Levis has had two solid seasons with Kentucky over the past two years and has proved to be one of the most NFL-ready quarterbacks to come out of this draft.

Many quarterbacks are expected to be selected in the first round of the draft next year, and there could be up to four quarterbacks taken in the top 10.
