Antonio Brown quotes Kanye West claiming NFL is rigged following Super Bowl LVII result

If there is controversy to be had, Antonio Brown and Kanye West are likely to be involved. The duo were at it after the conclusion of Super Bowl LVII, where the Kansas City Chiefs edged out the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35.

It was a great game with many ebbs and flows. The Eagles came out strong and took a 24-14 half-time lead. But the Chiefs came roaring back in the second half due to some inspired play-calling by Andy Reid. It was a see-saw battle in which whichever team ultimately won would have deserved it.

But that wasn't enough for Antonio Brown. He amplified what Kanye West had said before when the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a couple of seasons ago. Kanye had said at the time that the NFL rigged the game to ensure that Tom Brady won his first Super Bowl away from New England and his seventh ring overall.

Antonio Brown played in that game, so he would know whether it was rigged or not. After Super Bowl Sunday, the former player retweeted West's video in which he made the claim. Perhaps Brown was claiming that the league robbed Mahomes of one title against the Buccaneers and was now making up for it.

A large section of the NFL community did not like the way the game between the Chiefs and the Eagles ended. A controversial holding call on Eagles cornerback James Bradberry allowed the Chiefs to run down the clock and kick a field goal with seconds left.

Are Kanye West and Antonio Brown right in saying the NFL is rigged?

While everyone is entitled to their opinion, there is no evidence that the league is rigged in any way. The game was fought to the bitter end by two of the best teams in the league. They were both the No. 1 team in their respective divisions coming into this game and that was evident on Sunday.

With regards to the late penalty, even the Eagles player agreed that it was the correct call.

#Eagles CB James Bradberry said in the locker room that he held JuJu Smith-Schuster:

“It was a holding. I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide."

Kanye West has been in hot water for some time for spreading conspiracy theories that have been widely criticized as too extreme. Antonio Brown has had his fair share of controversial moments across his NFL career. As such, anything they say should be taken with a pinch of salt.
