Antonio Brown resorts to name-calling, trolls President Biden's "President Putin" gaffe with Zelenskyy
Antonio Brown along with most Americans could not go through Thursday without hearing about President Joe Biden's mistake with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's name. The mistake roughly split the country into two camps along party lines.
Some claimed that the mistake was a small one, which in the grand scheme of things doesn't matter much. Others have taken to spotlighting the verbal mistake as loud as possible. Brown has put himself in the latter camp. The former wide receiver called President Biden the "dumba** of the day" via a post on Twitter/X.
"Dumba** of the Day," he posted.
In a video shared with the post, Biden was misspoke while announcing the Ukrainian president as the Russian president. Both presidents have the first name of Vladimir (spelled differently), but different last names. It appears Biden may have confused the names because of this. Here's how the mistake went down.
President Biden: "[00:00:00] And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin. President Putin? He is going defeat President Putin. President Zelensky. I'm so focused on beating Putin, we got to worry about it. Anyway. Mr. president," Biden said. [00:00:20][20.0]
Zelenskyy laughed it off, declaring he was better than the Russian president. Biden agreed.
Antonio Brown continues President Joe Biden's criticism on social media
This wasn't the first time the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver commented negatively on the president and his campaign. On June 27, Brown commented on the president's debate with former President Trump, claiming CNN was working to hide Biden's verbal stumbles.
"CNN trying to protect Biden by cutting him off mid-sentence is awful journalism but not surprising," he posted.
Before that, on March 10, Brown took a shot at Biden with a racially toned post on Twitter/X.
"Cr*cker of the Day," he posted.
Twitter/X placed a Hateful Conduct disclaimer on the post and claimed to limit its visibility on the social media site.
In April, Antonio Brown's shots received an indirect response from the president. Brown announced he had been blocked by Biden's account and his former quarterback Tom Brady in the same post.
