Are Jets giving Aaron Rodgers the Tom Brady treatment? NFL insider points out red carpet treatment for 4x MVP

Aaron Rodgers could officially become a member of the New York Jets this week, based on the fever pitch of talks moving along. Of course, nothing has officially been announced. That said, with the team making moves to get several surrounding pieces for the quarterback, the writing could be on the wall.

At least, that is what NFL analyst Judy Battista has claimed in a clip posted on her Twitter account. She said that the team is following the example set by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Tom Brady:

"This really reminds me of what Tampa Bay did when Tom Brady went there three years ago, almost exactly three years ago to the day. They put a lot of pieces around him, including Rob Gronkowski."

Will No. 12 join the New York Jets?

She continued, revealing the extra impact of having the same face in a new place:

"And one of the things I remember from that time was Rob Gronkowski was able to sort of translate from Tom Brady to the Bucs receivers who were not familiar with Tom Brady, what he wanted and how he wanted them to run routes."
Still not done, but you can start to see how the Jets will try to make Aaron Rodgers as comfortable as possible immediately. Reminds me a bit of when Brady went to the Bucs. https://t.co/4pIGV5Ud81

Lastly, she equated the potential Allen Lazard move to the Buccaneers' work with No. 12:

"That's sort of what I think we're going to see here at the Jets assuming it all comes together and Allen Lazard and perhaps Randall Cobb join and Aaron Rodgers joins to is they would be able to beat the bridge from Aaron Rodgers to the Jets wide receiver room."
This particular progrum still has no information on the Aaron Rodgers situation

What would Aaron Rodgers be joining in the New York Jets?

No. 12 at Green Bay Packers v Kansas City Chiefs
No. 12 at Green Bay Packers v Kansas City Chiefs

No. 12 would be joining a team that many believe already has a quality surrounding cast and are just a quarterback away from great success. The defense stole the show in 2022 with the fourth-best ranked unit in yards allowed per game.

That, combined with No. 12, would put the franchise in a powerful spot, fans and pundits have claimed.

In addition, he'd be joining a franchise with a budding running back and wide receiver in Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson.

Hall played in seven games in 2022, earning 463 yards, which would put him on pace for about 1000 in 2023. Additionally, Wilson proved to be a quality player after reaching 1100 yards in his rookie season.

Rodgers, Hall, Wilson, potentially Lazard, and a top-five defense could be a recipe to make the team one to be feared in 2023.

Of course, a similar turnaround was also expected in Denver, but the air was quickly let out of that balloon. Would a Rodgers trade lead to a Buccaneers result or a Broncos one?
