Arrested Development star Henry Winkler clears the air about his reported bromance with Patrick Mahomes

It all started earlier this year when actor Henry Winkler raved about how much he loved quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Winkler told Rich Eisen that he was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and went as far as to call him his "hero". He also expressed interest in meeting him one day.

Mahomes heard about the interview and invited the actor to the Kansas City Chiefs' away game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The two were able to meet for the first time and have apparently become friends.

Henry Winkler tells TMZ Sports he and Patrick Mahomes do, indeed, have a genuine bromance going on. tmz.com/2023/01/01/hen…

Winkler was recently asked about his friendship with the Super Bowl champion quarterback and said that one could call it a "bromance". He said that he and Mahomes are planning to have dinner together in the near future:

"Yeah, we have a bromance. We're doing dinner soon!"

Winkler was asked when he and the quarterback would be having dinner. He said that it wouldn't be too soon because he was just going to let him continue playing and win the Super Bowl:

"I'm going to let him play in the Super Bowl and win first."

The relationship between the two is so tight that the Arrested Development actor sent Mahomes and his wife Brittany a gift when their son was born in November.

Patrick Mahomes nears yet another career milestone

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has achieved a lot in his young career. Two trips to the Super Bowl, one Super Bowl ring, an NFL MVP and much more. Enter Week 16 of the 2022 NFL season, the Chiefs quarterback has currently thrown for 4,720 yards this season. He needs just 280 more passing yards to reach 5,000 on the season. He could easily do so on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

If he does reach the 5,000 passing yard milestone, it will be the second time in his career, the first was in 2018. With his second season eclipsing that milestone, he will join a very small club of quarterbacks in the National Football League who have done so more than once. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has thrown for 5,000 yards twice in his career in 2011 and last year in 2021.

Former New Orleans Saints quarterback and Super Bowl champion Drew Brees has the most 5,000 yard seasons with five. He did so in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016.

And, the Chiefs quarterback is just 27 years old, leaving the door wide open for the record books to continue being re-written.
