“Beat the sh*t out of Skip Bayless” – NFL fans believe Undisputed co-host is on borrowed time after blatantly interrupting Shannon Sharpe
Following Damar Hamlin's injury during the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, Shannon Sharpe was not present for Undisputed with Skip Bayless. On Wednesday, the show opened with Sharpe attempting to tell the audience why he wasn't present the day before.
Sharpe, a former NFL player, was struck by what happened to Hamlin. He had never seen anything like what he saw Monday night and it struck him. He also saw his brother temporarily paralyzed on the field, so this was not a pleasant experience.
As a result, he needed to take a day off. He also took a day off after Skip Bayless' insensitive tweet about the game and Hamlin's health.
At that point, Bayless interrupted to say he wouldn't be taking down the tweet, which angered Sharpe even further. He said:
"Skip, let me finish. You go ahead. Go ahead, let's go, Jen. I mean I cannot even get through a monologue without you interrupting me... You can't even let me finish my opening monologue without you interrupting!"
Bayless was particularly tough to deal with for Sharpe, and NFL fans around the world sympathize with the Hall of Famer.
Many fans are tired of Skip Bayless' poor takes, but this one in particular has rubbed people the wrong way. Shannon Sharpe pointed out that the focus needed to be on Hamlin, not on the game, which is incredibly unimportant in comparison.
What did Skip Bayless tweet that upset Shannon Sharpe?
There has long been disagreement between Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless, but this feels like genuine animosity.
The source was Bayless' tweet on Monday night, which read:
"No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game - but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome ... which suddenly seems so irrelevant."
To his credit, Bayless did mention that the game seems irrelevant, but it's probably not an issue that even needs to be raised while an NFL player is fighting for his life.
