Bengals QB Joe Burrow reveals reason for bleach blond buzz cut ahead of 2024 NFL season
The 2024 NFL season is a very important one for Joe Burrow. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback is coming with high motivation to get the people talking, after missing out last year due to injury. Burrow has already kept up his end of the bargain by buzzing his hair and bleaching it blonde, which has got the fans talking.
Burrow spoke to reporters on Wednesday at Bengals training camp. When asked why he decided to shave his head and dye his hair, the Bengals quarterback said it was because he was "bored."
"B.J. [Hill] said if I buzzed it and bleached it, he would do it, too. So now everybody's gotta hold him accountable 'cause he's gotta do it in the next week."
Joe Burrow's barber Darnell Bonner spoke to GQ Magazine and discussed about the Bengals QB's viral buzz cut. He revealed that Burrow wanted to try something new with his hair, for this season. It was during the Vogue World fashion show in Paris when Burrow decided on going full Eminem.
“This [haircut] is for this [Paris Fashion] week, but next week, I think we're going to go ahead and try this buzz cut,” Burrow said to Bonner.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow is happy to put the wrist injury behind him
Joe Burrow is returning from a right wrist injury, which ended his 2023 NFL season prematurely. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback has worked hard this offseason and is eager to get back on the field. Burrow is focused on continuing to build team chemistry and is feeling pretty confident heading into the season.
"You grow and learn every year," Burrow said. "You know, I know I'm pretty damn good. I have been. Kinda continued to improve year to year, day to day. I think that's how you have to approach it."
Burrow continued:
"I'm focused on continued improvement and I'm really happy with the offseason that I have. I'm really happy to have this training camp to continue to hone my skills and improve and, you know, build this team chemistry for this run we're about to go on."
Head coach Zac Taylor has said that he plans to play Joe Burrow in the preseason games. The workload and how much the QB will partake is still undecided. Given Burrow's injury history, especially during every training camp, staying healthy throughout the season will be his first priority. If he does so, the Cincinnati Bengals will have a real shot at winning their first-ever Super Bowl.
