Bengals WR Tee Higgins' mom issues 2-word message on Josh Allen's case for MVP
Amid the ongoing NFL MVP debate, Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins's mother, Lady Stewart, picked her favorite for the league’s most prestigious individual award.
Reposting ML Football's picks on X featuring Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Saquon Barkley, Tee Higgins' mom gave her verdict.
“Burrow duh.”
Allen is the odds-on favorite per Fox Sports thanks to his insane stat lines over the last two weeks. He accounted for 10 total touchdowns in Weeks 14 and 15 combined, and became the first quarterback in NFL history record three passing and three rushing touchdowns in the same game. However, the MVP discussion is far from settled.
Burrow has put up MVP-caliber numbers. Unfortunately, his team's 6-8 record has effectively sidelined his candidacy. After Week 14, Burrow is leading the NFL with 36 touchdown passes and 3,977 passing yards. His 107.9 passer rating ranks fourth, and his 74.1 QBR is third.
Barkley has experienced a career season with the Eagles and has a chance to beat Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record. Mahomes has the Chiefs in position to capture the top seed in the AFC, although his numbers have not been as prolific as previous seasons. Mahomes suffered an ankle injury in Week 15, so his status going forward is somewhat in doubt. Jackson continues to dazzle as a dual-threat quarterback and is ahead of Burrow in QBR. However, the Ravens are not exactly in the mix for the best record like they were a season ago which likely hurts Jackson. The 2023 MVP is performing better this season than he did last year, so being a repeat winner is not out of the question.
