Bijan Robinson spotlights one area where his workload has gotten lighter in the NFL

Bijan Robinson has been in the NFL for little more than a season. However, he might already have dropped one of the biggest takes of the preseason. Robinson claimed on Friday's "Good Morning Football" that his NFL offseason was easier than his college offseason.

"I never had an offseason be this long before. I had some good time to just relax, enjoy my family more than I'm used to because in college, it's more so I see them a couple of days, maybe a week and then I got to go back to college," Robinson said [00:00:34-00:01:05]

In other words, Kyle Pitts' teammate would balance attending school while playing a rigorous season. Now, he only has to worry about remaining in football shape with no school to worry about.

His take flies in the face of analysts and fans arguing that the NFL is much more difficult than college football. Of course, Robinson's comments didn't argue that. Rather, he said he had more time off between January and late July than he was adjusted to.

Most fans could agree that if Robinson plays his cards right, his time off will only increase over the decades. If he plays well enough to earn his second big contract, he should be set up for the rest of his life. Of course, as this last offseason has taught fans, teams are only getting stingier with what kind of contracts they hand out to their running backs.

If Robinson plays well over the next couple of years, he should be able to sign a solid second contract with another team, even if it isn't the Atlanta Falcons. Still, armed with the franchise tag, the Falcons could pay Robinson a sizable salary after his rookie deal ends.

Franchise tags don't pay as high as the top salaries in the league, but they offer a big raise over their rookie deals. This year, Bijan Robinson would have earned nearly $12 million, according to numbers released by Pro Football Talk.

According to Spotrac, one year on the franchise tag would be more than half his contract over four years. Robinson rushed 1000 yards last season. To open the door for any further talk of a raise, the Falcons' RB will need to shatter the mark this season.
