Bill Belichick to Jaguars? NFL insider links ex-NFL HC to Jacksonville after 0-3 start

Bill Belichick's absence from a head coach position in the 2024 season still feels weird. After leaving the New England Patriots, the place where he called the shots for 24 years, Belichick almost became the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, but things didn't go well and he was out of a job.

Now, although he has many media responsibilities, Belichick has said that he still wants to be a head coach in the league, and there's one place where the culture definitely needs a reset. NFL insider Albert Breer thinks that the Jacksonville Jaguars could end up as his new team:

They're just a sneaky one with Belichick for me. Tony Khan has a really strong relationship with Bill Belichick, tto the point where, when they hired Doug Marrone as the full-time coach after removing the interim tag in 2017, that was largely on Bill Belichick's advice. So, Bill's had the ear of ownership in that place for a while now. I just wonder if that's not rattling around in the heads of ownership there now, especially when you're building a new stadium. Some things line up there where I wouldn't totally rule out out that as a viable possibility for Belichick in 2025.

The Jaguars lost all three games to start the season and their 2024 year is quickly unraveling. It looks like Doug Pederson could be fired before the end of the season, but the veteran head coach wouldn't take any team until 2025.

Which other teams could be looking for Bill Belichick as their head coach?

Another possibility that can't be discarded are the Dallas Cowboys. It's known that owner Jerry Jones has an affection for the former Patriots head coach, and Mike McCarthy's tenure feels like it's getting to its final days.

Jerry Jones must be licking his lips at the possibility of adding a head coach with Belichick's pedigree to his team, especially as they haven't made the NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season. A head coach with a proven history of winning in a team that hasn't won in a long time is a great combination to change things.
