Bill Belichick lands second big job since ending 23-year Patriots tenure

Bill Belichick ended his tenure with the Patriots this offseason after they finished with a losing record and failed to make the playoffs. And when the rage is young offensive coaches, it was always going to be tough for him to land another coaching gig straight away. The Falcons were the only team that reportedly flirted with it but ultimately passed on him.

But now Bill Belichick is making waves in the media business. As a surefire future Hall-of-Fame coach, he brings a perspective that very few can bring to our televisions. He is now joining Inside the NFL and will be part of a team including Ryan Clark, Chris Long, and Chad Johnson. It is his second big gig covering NFL games.

Bill Belichick will also be on ManningCast in 2024

Bill Belichick might be on the sidelines literally for the 2024 NFL season but he will be there figuratively. He will be bringing his wealth of experience to our screens. Inside the NFL will merely be the second big gig that he has landed this offseason. Earlier, Peyton Manning confirmed that the former Patriots coach will be appearing on every episode of ManningCast this season that he hosts with his brother Eli.

The Hall-of-Fame footballer saw him balancing out the two quarterbacks on the show and talking about the defensive side of the ball. The former Broncos and Colts legend commented,

“I said, ‘Bill, we want you to come on. Look, we’d love to go behind the ropes on the defensive side as to kind of what the Eagles are going to have to do to stop Patrick Mahomes, right? And if you ever run out of things to say, just make fun of Eli, right? That’s always sort of a time-filler,’ and Bill doesn’t like Eli,” Manning explained.
“We all know that – two Super Bowls – so it’s just a match made in heaven.”

Bill Belichick has not let the fact that he was not offered a coaching job this offseason get him down. He has chosen to go the media route to share his knowledge and remain in the limelight. He would have noted Sean Payton doing television analysis during his break year before becoming the Broncos coach. He would have seen Jeff Saturday go from ESPN to coaching the Colts.

There is no indication that Bill Belichick is ready to hang up his coaching career yet. But while he is waiting, he has decided to make himself ubiquitous in the NFL-watching experience.
