“Holy crap, this is guy is fast” – Bills’ Josh Allen hyped for Nyheim Hines’ debut

Newly acquired Buffalo Bills running back Nyheim Hines is impressing his new teammates such as Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. On November 1, 2022, the Indianapolis Colts traded Hines to the Bills in exchange for running back Zack Moss and a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

It didn’t take long for the running back to show his skills and versatility in Buffalo. In his first practice with the team, he showed Allen and Diggs how fast he was, and they were caught by surprise. Here's what Allen said:

“One play, me and Stef looked at each other like, ‘Holy crap, this guy is fast.' He’s smart, he’s already learning some of the plays and our system is not easy to learn. There’s still a lot of work there, but as far as what he can give this offense, it’s fun to have a piece like that.”

Hines arrived in Buffalo on Wednesday, November 2, and could possibly suit up for Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Hines was a fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft selected by Indianapolis. Early on during the 2021 season, Hines signed a three-year, $18.6 million contract extension with the Colts in September.

Buffalo are currently in first place in the AFC East and boast a 6-1 record. The Bills have the biggest points differential in the NFL (105) as they've outscored their opponents 203 to 98 thus far.

Buffalo traded away backup running back Zack Moss to the Colts. However, they have added a more versatile back in Hines who could have a big role in their offense. Their offense features Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, Devin Singletary, Dawson Knox, and now Hines.

Buffalo is set to play the Jets on Sunday, and Nyheim Hines could possibly have a limited role. It will be interesting to see him in action in Week 9.
