Blake Corum's fiancee Makiah Shipp celebrates Rams star's birthday with adorable wish
Makiah Shipp, fiancée of LA Rams running back Blake Corum, took to Instagram on Nov. 25 to share a heartfelt birthday post for her beau. The post featured Shipp taking a selfie while turning her head backward to kiss Corum. She included a sweet message:
“Happy Birthday to the best husband a woman could ask for @blake_corum.”
Corum reshared the post on his Instagram story, thanking her for the thoughtful wishes. He also shared birthday messages from his sisters — Starr, Skye and Rainn — as well as former teammates, including Jaret Patterson and Nikhai Hill-Green.
This marked Corum’s 24th birthday; he was born on Nov. 25, 2000, in Marshall, Virginia. It is likely the third birthday celebration with Shipp, as the couple began dating in 2022 while both were at the University of Michigan.
However, this birthday was unique for Corum as it was the first one since they started dating where he wasn’t actively playing football.
Who is Makiah Shipp?
Makiah Shipp is more than just Corum’s fiancée. She is an activist, award-winning author, public speaker and youth advocate. She attended the University of Michigan, where the couple met. Shipp’s passion for helping others led her to join the Ann Arbor Independent Community Police Oversight Commission.
At just 20 years old, she authored "Makiah’s Show and Tell," a book aimed at empowering young Black girls. She has also worked with organizations like the Rhonda Walker Foundation and Midnight Golf, which focus on youth empowerment.
Her time as class president at Detroit Edison Public School Academy helped groom her leadership skills.
Blake Corum gifts himself memorable birthday gift
Last year, Corum celebrated his 23rd birthday in a thrilling way. He played his final home game for the No. 3-ranked University of Michigan Wolverines against the No. 2-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.
Corum had an exceptional performance, helping his team secure a 30-24 victory by scoring two touchdowns.
One of his standout moments was a 22-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, which proved to be a pivotal play. Corum finished the game with 22 carries for 88 yards.
This victory marked the Wolverines' second consecutive win over Ohio State and secured them the Big Ten East Division crown, along with a berth in the Big Ten Championship Game.
After the game, a bloodied but smiling Corum shared his gratitude with Brad Galli, saying:
“I wouldn't want to spend my birthday with any other people than the Michigan community.”
In 2022, he had been preparing for a matchup against the same formidable rival, continuing the tradition of memorable birthday moments intertwined with football.
