Bo Nix's wife Izzy lauds Broncos QB's sensational preseason debut vs Colts

Bo Nix had a memorable NFL debut on Sunday. He was easily the best quarterback of the day, completing 15 of 21 attempts for 125 yards and a touchdown to Marvin Mims as his Denver Broncos won 34-30 at the Indianapolis Colts.

After the game, he got to meet his family, which included his wife Izzy (nee Smoke), his sister Emma Grace Davis and her son/his nephew. Both the on- and off-field moments were captured on Izzy's Instagram Stories:

"Lived in answered prayers today."
"Straight off the field to nephew struggles."

Who is Bo Nix's wife Izzy?

Izzy Smoke was born on Oct. 18, 1998, in Alabama. She was a gymnast growing up, but she left the sport just before her 17th birthday. She later took up basketball.

She then attended Auburn, where she joined the cheerleading squad and met Bo Nix. The two started dating and became engaged after just one year, with him proposing at Jordan-Hare Stadium, the Tigers' football venue.

The next year, the two got married and moved to Oregon, where Nix broke out as one of the nation's top quarterbacks. In the meantime, Izzy started engraining herself to the local community, telling the Pac-12 Network in 2023:

"It was definitely a tough transition, but I knew when we got engaged that we could live anywhere, be anywhere he could transfer, so it’s been great.
“He came out here by himself, knew nobody, didn’t have me (and) his parents down the street, so he would tell me all the time, ‘I’ve realized that I can live on my own. I kind of feel like I’ve grown up.’ And I think that was great leading into our marriage. I feel like he’s always been mature and so wise and disciplined and one of the most driven people I know.”

Speaking of wives, Nix has another one within his family: his sister Emma Grace, who is married to former Citadel Bulldogs baseball infielder and current coach J.D. Davis. The two welcomed their first child, a boy, in June.

He also has another sister, Sara, and another brother, Caleb, who plays safety at Clemson. A stepbrother, Tez Johnson, is a wide receiver at his former alma mater of Oregon, where they were teammates for a year.
