Bobby Wagner dodges criminal charges despite field invader claiming he suffered a concussion after being tackled during Rams vs 49ers
On October 3rd, during the game against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium, Bobby Wagner tackled a field invader named Alexander Taylor, who filed an official complaint against Wagner.
As per TMZ, Taylor claimed that he suffered a headache, a concussion and a burn on his inner right bicep after the Rams player tackled him.
However, Bobby Wagner will not be charged for the incident. It was a great relief for the former Seattle Seahawks player, who hasn't had the best of times since joining the Super Bowl champs.
The Los Angeles Rams are 3-9 following the conclusion of Week 13 and are unlikely to make it to the playoffs this season. This was a major letdown for them as they are the defending champions and had high expectations coming into this season.
Wagner was also defended by head coach Sean McVay for his actions against the field invader during the game against the 49ers. Here's what McVay said about it:
"We all know where Bobby's intentions were, and I support Bobby Wagner. That's where I'm at with that, I don't think anybody would disagree."
There have been multiple instances where field invaders have caused a disturbance in the game, but Wagner set an example, and in the future people might avoid doing so.
Bobby Wagner didn't have any regrets for his actions
Bobby Wagner has no regrets about what happened to Alexander Taylor at Levi's Stadium on October 3rd. Here's what he said recently about the incident:
"It's behind me. Can't really focus on it. I'm more concerned about the security guard that was hurt trying to chase him and the people that was ... we don't know what that is and you just gotta do what you gotta do."
Wagner added:
"You just never know, You never know, like, people run on the field for no reason sometimes and again, I'm pretty sure it's gonna keep happening, but you never know what that person got in they pocket, in they hands, whatever. Kind of like what I said after the game so, you know, there's consequences for your actions."
Wagner was brought in by the LA Rams to replace Von Miller, but constant injuries to other star players have hindered the team's overall progress.
It will be interesting to see how a fully healthy Rams team will play next season, as they still have many elite players on their team.
