Brett Favre defamation lawsuit: Shannon Sharpe reportedly makes move against Hall of Famer

Brett Favre has spent plenty of energy in courtrooms over the last couple of years in connection to his role in the Mississippi welfare scandal. However, the former quarterback hasn't only been on the defensive. He's gone after certain media members for portraying him in a negative light, including Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee.

McAfee has made a lot of jokes about the situation, but "Undisputed" host Sharpe appears to be willing to take the fight to Favre. According to Daniel Kaplan, Sharpe has filed a motion to move the lawsuit from state court to federal court.

Will Brett Favre win his lawsuits against Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee?

Shannon Sharpe filed to move Brett Favre's defamation lawsuit against the Hall of Fame tight end into federal Mississippi court from a state court.

Favre is alleging defamation, which is when someone believes their reputation has come under attack. The former quarterback could be hoping that taking down these big names in the media industry would quiet the avalanche of critics calling him out.

Update: Shannon Sharpe has removed Brett Favre's defamation lawsuit to federal court. He filed a Notice of Removal yesterday in the Southern District of Mississippi. The case is assigned to Senior Judge Keith Starrett, whose chambers are in Hattiesburg. twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

In a way, Pat McAfee has made himself the center of attention for Packers fans. On one hand, he's serving as one of the main sources of news about Aaron Rodgers' future, while on the other, he is battling Brett Favre in court.

In an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers revealed his intentions to play for the New York Jets. However, the Packers and Jets haven't agreed on a deal to ship the quarterback to the Big Apple. They are reportedly still far apart in their valuation of the quarterback.

Will the Packers turn their back on No. 12 after almost 20 years just as their fans are turning on his mentor? Only time will tell.
