Brett Favre endorses Patrick Mahomes’ politics, throws subtle shade at ‘pop stars’ after Taylor Swift’s Kamala Harris stance
Patrick Mahomes has often been asked about his political stance, but the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has always refrained from taking anyone's side. He recently said that everyone should do their own research and make the best decision for themselves and their family.
Mahomes also expressed that he does not want his platform to be used for endorsing anyone. NFL legend Brett Favre recently praised Mahomes for his comments and took a dig at celebrities who go out of their way to endorse someone.
This comes after Taylor Swift showed her support for Kamala Harris via a post on social media. Favre said:
"Good take by Mahomes — I see a lot of celebs trying to influence their audience instead of letting the people think for themselves. If the best choice for them ain’t clear and they’re easily swayed by their fav pop artist, it’s not going to be a good thing."
Donald Trump is aware of Taylor Swift supporting Kamala Harris and he recently made remarks about liking Brittany Mahomes 'much better' than the pop star.
Many have questioned Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany's friendship with Taylor Swift in the last few weeks. This comes after Brittany's social media activity hinted at her support for Trump in the upcoming 2024 United States presidential election.
The Chiefs quarterback has constantly mentioned that he gets along with everyone regardless of their political opinions. The Mahomes family was also spotted with Travis Kelce and Swift at the US Open Finals, which further proves his point.
Taylor Swift was present at Patrick Mahomes' Chiefs win in Week 2
Taylor Swift was at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City when Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs won a very close game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.
Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker made a game-winning 51-yard field goal against arguably the team's biggest rival. Travis Kelce didn't have an impactful game, as he finished with just one reception for five yards on three targets.
Mahomes himself played poorly, but Chiefs fans hope that the team will pick it up going forward. Kansas City's next home game is in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints, and Taylor Swift is expected to be in attendance. Hopefully, by then, Kelce will get back in rhythm and play like we're used to seeing him play.
