Brett Favre raises his voice on CTE with a powerful documentary on departed Giants safety Tyler Sash

The figure of Brett Favre might've become a bit toxic in today's NFL, but the impact the quarterback had over two decades of playing can't be erased. And for having such a long career, he knows the impact that the game had on his body - and for many other veterans, it was even worse.

Since Favre retired from the league, the discussion around CTE and the long-term damages of football on the brains of the players grew a lot. The impact of multiple concussions led to lawsuits, indenizations and lots of changes regarding the safety of the sport.

Now, he has worked as the executive producer for the documentary Concussed, which will speak about Tyler Sash, part of the New York Giants roster that won the Super Bowl but had his career cut short. He had many concussions and his life went down, dying to the mixture of drugs in 2015.

Concussed will be released on August 22, 2024, prior to the NFL season. It remains to be seen if there will be much media acceptance considering the problems of the former quarterback involved in Mississippi.

What's the lawsuit for Favre in the Mississippi scandal?

The former quarterback was reportedly involved in the creation of a drug that would provide relief for players who were suffering from symptoms of concussion.

But the company was later involved in the Mississippi Welfare Scandal. They gained access to $1.7 million in funds that were supposed to go to the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.

The former Green Bay Packers quarterback also reportedly took welfare funds from the state to help build a new volleyball facility at the University of Southern Mississippi, where his daughter attends.

He has vehemently denied those allegations, and given back the $1 million he received for his no-show appearances. However, he has allegedly still not paid back the $240,000 in interest.

How to watch Brett Favre's 'Concussed' documentary?

The documentary will be released in theaters on August 22, 2024. It's unclear at this point if it will feature in any streamings.

Jim McMahon and several other players are also part of the movie's cast.
