Brett Favre slams Oklahoma police as officers arrest man in front of six-year-old son
Brett Favre saw the viral incident of a man being arrested by Oklahoma police in front of his six-year-old son, and he's not happy with how things transpired. Favre is usually not shy in voicing his opinions, and he didn't hesitate to offer up a brief reaction to the incident on social media.
In the video captured by body cam footage, police approached the man and his son, who said they were just walking. The officer noted that it was "pretty suspicious" to him since it was so early in the morning. The father said he and his son do this pretty often before declining to show ID. Another officer quickly threatened to take the man to jail if he didn't produce any.
The man said that in Oklahoma, he doesn't have to show ID. The officer quickly told him to turn around to be arrested. He was shocked, asking if they were really about to do this in front of his child.
After the man said he needed to record the interaction, the officer tripped him and forced him to the ground. He knelt over the top of him to finish putting handcuffs on him, with the now arrested man saying it was "f****d up." As his son stood by watching this all unfold, things didn't get any better.
It was this situation that caught the attention of the former Green Bay Packers quarterback, who took to X to express his frustrations.
"Not acceptable!!"
The comments section on the original video was filled with sentiments similar to Favre's.
Brett Favre contests judge's decision in fraud case
Brett Favre is currently fighting a fraud case, in which he is accused of stealing welfare funds in Mississippi to build a new volleyball stadium at his alma mater.
He claims that a judge has now improperly blocked his lead attorney from representing him in a lawsuit in which the welfare money is being sought. The judge claimed that his lawyer had violated Mississippi rules, but Favre is contesting the decision.
This situation has been ongoing since 2022 and does not seem to be nearing an end yet.
