Brittany Mahomes is reaping the rewards of her investment as the NWSL goes bigger than ever and KC Current, the team of her choice, also expands. As per a report, they now earn more than $10 million in revenue and have a valuation worth $75 million.
KC Current has made big strides since Brittany Mahomes became co-founding owner in 2020
To call this investment shrewd would be doing a disservice to Brittany Mahomes. She was involved with the KC Current as a former soccer player herself. Additionally, since her husband, Patrick Mahomes, is the star quarterback for the Chiefs, she also had an interest in the Kansas City area.
But there is no doubt that she chose to back a winning horse. While the Current did not have the season they wanted last term and finished empty-handed, they are in a great position to make strides.
They have a new stadium and have secured billions in various sponsorships, including the Bank of America. Interest in women's sports and soccer is also growing.
Brittany Mahomes will also know that the sky is the limit for where she can go with this investment. The KC Current plays the most popular sport in the world and where there is an increasing interest in the women's version around the globe. Her husband plays in a league where team valuations reach in the single billions. Therefore, some would suggest that the current valuation can be topped a hundred times over.
Patrick Mahomes has previously pointed out one way Brittany Mahomes can help raise KC Current's profile
Patrick Mahomes, also a part-owner of the NWSL team, has also pointed out another way that his wife Brittany Mahomes can use the tools at her disposal to increase the value of their holdings. He has suggested that Taylor Swift, a fellow Chiefs WAG at this point, could be persuaded to drop by the Current's stadium and give the team and NWSL the exposure it craves. The quarterback had said,
"We might get her here at some point, she's a busy woman and Travis is a busy guy. So, maybe during season or something like that we'll get her out to a Kansas City Current game. She loves supporting Kansas City just like we do and I'm sure Brittany can nudge her and get her here pretty easily."
If this does end up taking place, the valuation currently given could be expected to jump even further given the performer's stature. Not that it is doing any shabbily without her in the first place.
