A fired-up Patrick Mahomes is common to see during games. When the star quarterback sprinkles in a bit of smack talk, that’s extra sauce on the turkey.
His wife Brittany Mahomes certainly noticed. She did not hesitate to share her enthusiasm for her husband’s extra spiciness during Week 11’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chargers almost pulled off the upset against their AFC West division rivals. But Mahomes pulled out the magical walk-off touchdown win with a 17-yard touchdown pass to tight end Travis Kelce with only 37 seconds left in the game.
Mahomes proceeded to let all of LA know his thoughts on the outcome of the game.
The Mahomes are expecting baby number 2 in early 2023, but the young couple have plenty to celebrate ahead of the holiday season. This includes the Chiefs making a final push for the number-one seed in the AFC.
At 8-2, Kansas City controls its own destiny as long as the team keeps winning. They remain ahead of the likes of the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, and the Buffalo Bills, who all have a 7-3 record heading into Week 12.
Patrick Mahomes is making his own case for MVP
Brittany Mahomes would certainly vote for her husband for league MVP, but Patrick Mahomes has steadily made his case for the award after 10+ weeks. While Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, and Tua Tagovailoa have all had strong seasons as well, it is Mahomes who has continued to excel at passing the ball. He is leading his team to a top record of 8-2.
For the season, Mahomes has thrown 28 touchdown passes against seven interceptions. He’s completed 66.1 percent of his passes and thrown for 3,265 yards.
Although the team traded away star receiver Tyreek Hill, Mahomes and company have made it up by utilizing star tight end Travis Kelce. This process has been aided by a wide receiver group of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, and recently-acquired Kadarius Toney.
For a team with its sights set on another Super Bowl run, Mahomes is starting to heat up at the right time.
Kansas City currently has a 4-game winning streak and will look to lock up the number-one seed and a bye week for the playoffs. If he continues to make magic at the end of games to come up clutch, fans can expect more trash talk out of Patrick Mahomes.
