Broncos legend Terrell Davis shares 'No Fly List' United Airlines letter after being manhandled on flight: "Insult to injury"
Former Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis has given his social media followers an update on a recent incident with United Airlines. Davis was recently handcuffed and escorted off an airplane after taking a flight with his wife and three children.
Davis wasn't criminally charged however; he has now been informed by United Airlines that he is on the 'No Fly List'. Davis shared the letter he received from United Airlines in a post on Instagram, adding that he was shocked that such an action has taken place since he was cleared of any wrongdoing.
"Adding insult to injury, @united not only had me removed from their flight in handcuffs, but placed me on their No Fly List after it was determined I did nothing wrong and was released. While my family and I continue to have difficult conversations with our children, I will continue to fight for what is right for all passengers of @united. Please contact @sgghlaw for any inquires, and please reshare this post."
This unsavory incident has raised several questions and put the onus on United Airlines to give their side of the story.
Why was Terrell Davis handcuffed and removed from flight?
In July 2024, Terrell Davis was on a flight from Denver to Los Angeles with his wife Tamiko and three children. During the flight, Davis asked the flight attendant for a cup of ice for his son. The flight attendant apparently didn't hear the former Denver Broncos running back, so he tapped him on the shoulder.
The flight attendant reportedly yelled "Don't hit me" and then ran to the front of the plane. The former Denver Broncos running back and the family thought the encounter was unusual but, continued on with their flight.
When the plane landed at John Wayne Airport, FBI agents entered the plane and handcuffed Davis and escorted him off the flight.
After hours of speaking with FBI agents, it was soon realized by authorities that it was just a misunderstanding. Terrell Davis was released from custody and wasn't charged.
The FBI agents apologized to the Davis family for the incident but the former running back has been vocal on holding the airline accountable for the incident.
