Bryce Young to Panthers? Chicago Bears trade first overall pick of 2023 NFL Draft; details revealed
The Chicago Bears have traded their first overall pick to the Carolina Panthers ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. The Panthers are in the market for a quarterback and this move up the draft board will help them in landing their desired quarterback.
Bryce Young of Alabama is widely expected to be drafted with the first overall pick and would be a great fit for the current Panthers team. The Panthers haven't had a franchise QB since Cam Newton, but maybe Frank Reich sees Young as the next man to lead the franchise.
Many teams were interested in trading up to get the first overall pick, as the Bears set up Justin Fields as their quarterback. Ultimately, the Carolina Panthers got the job done one month before the draft.
The Carolina Panthers did trade away key assets in order to land this pick, and hopefully, they will be able to utilize it effectively.

Details of the Chicago Bears - Carolina Panthers trade:
The Chicago Bears are getting a plethora of assets in return for their first overall pick. They will be getting the 9th and 61st overall picks of this year's draft along with a first-round pick in 2024 and a second-round pick in 2025.
However, the biggest asset in return that the Bears have got is star wide receiver D.J. Moore. Justin Fields finally has a true WR1 on his team, and the franchise has done a tremendous job in setting up their future.
Last season, Moore had 63 catches for 888 yards and scored 7 touchdowns in 17 games in 2022. He is still 25 years old and could form a great partnership with Fields for years to come in Chicago.
The Panthers will certainly miss Moore, but they will hope that the quarterback that they will draft with the first overall pick will be a franchise changer. With this trade, it is widely expected that the Panthers will continue to push aggressively with Frank Reich as their head coach.
