Buffalo Bills rumors: Josh Allen’s team expected to be in mix for top Florida prospect
The Buffalo Bills, led by quarterback Josh Allen, are one of the best teams in the NFL. They finished in first place in the AFC East the last three seasons and finished last season with a 13-3 record.
Looking ahead to the 2023 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills are set to be one of the last picks in the first round with pick number 27.
Many analysts and mock experts are pegging the team to add another playmaker for Josh Allen. While they could wait until the second round or later rounds to address that need, the Bills are reportedly interested in Florida wide receiver Justin Shorter.
According to Pro Football Network, the Bills, along with the Jacksonville Jaguars, have "shown plenty of interest" in Shorter throughout the pre-draft process.
He was seen catching deep balls from Anthony Richardson during his Florida pro day and wowed many scouts in attendance.
This past season, Shorter recorded 29 receptions for 577 yards and two touchdowns for the Florida Gators.
He spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career with Penn State before transferring to Florida in 2020, playing the last three seasons with the Gators. Shorter possesses ideal NFL size at 6'4 235 lbs. while running a 4.55 forty-yard dash.
Buffalo Bills trade rumors:
The Buffalo Bills will likely add another wide receiver this off-season, whether it's through draft, free agency, or trade.
They were interested in Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins earlier this off-season as the Cardinals have made him available via trade.
According to Tim Graham, who writes for The Athletic, the Bills won't trade for Hopkins, barring something unexpected.
Hopkins would be a great receiver to line up on the opposite side of Stefon Diggs, but there are many reasons why teams might not be interested in acquiring the veteran wideout.
He's suffered injuries the last two seasons, was suspended six games for violating the NFL's PED policy, and has a lot of money due over the next two seasons.
The Bills cut wide receiver Isiah McKenzie this off-season and will still likely add another target to their receiver group.
Who do you think the Bills will add to the receiver room?
