Moms for Josh Allen release petition for Bills star after narrow loss vs Vikings
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills suffered a heart-breaking 33-30 overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday. Allen had two costly turnovers towards the end of the game as he fumbled the ball in the Vikings end zone, which resulted in a defensive touchdown and throwing the game-sealing pick in overtime in the redzone.
A petition on change.org was set up by Shira GK for middle-aged women/mothers with the intent to encourage Allen following the loss. The petition quickly received 7,500 signatures, with the goal being re-set at 15,000.
Here is the petition's description stating their love for the quarterback:
"We know it is not easy to be a quarterback for any NFL team, but Josh Allen has taken on the weight of a city's hopes and dreams, in addition to the regular pressures of the game.
We have a history unlike any city and the pain and loss we felt in the past makes watching this Bills team a joy unlike any other. But we want Josh Allen to know that he shouldn't feel the weight of our history – that started long before he was born – on his shoulders. We love our QB, win or lose. We love our QB, amazing plays and occasional mistakes."
The petition also mentions:
"We are so proud of having this young man represent us. It broke our hearts, as moms, to see the look in his eyes on Sunday. Josh, win or lose, we are proud of you. We know you can do this. And please know, we will be OK as a city no matter how this season ends and what happens. And don't forget to eat healthy foods and get lots of sleep (and slide when getting those extra yards – we worry)! Western New York moms love you to the moon and back!"
The Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen are primed for a wild game this Sunday
The Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen will be looking to end their two-game skid this Sunday vs. the Cleveland Browns. However, it won't come easy as the forecast for Buffalo is expected to receive 3-6 feet of snow prior the matchup.
As of now, the NFL will be monitoring the weather ahead of Buffalo's big storm, and could possibly re-locate the game. The Bills are 6-3 and are in second-place in the AFC East as the Cleveland Browns are 3-6.
Perhaps some of the encouragement from the petition can boost Allen's spirits and help him lead the Bills to victory this weekend.
