"Burrowhead my a**, it's Mahomes' house" - Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes combine to bully Bengals after win

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have waited all week to fire back at the people who were underestimating them. There were those calling their home stadium Arrowhead as 'Burrowhead' because Joe Burrow had beaten them in overtime last season.

The mayor of Cincinnati took time to remind everyone of the moniker and also talked about how Mahomes had never won against Burrow and had a 0-3 losing record against the Bengals quarterback. While Cincinnati have felt wronged by the league many a time this season, their continuous trolling transferred the chip back onto the Chiefs' shoulder.

As it happened, they eked out a 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals at home. The Chiefs are now going to the Super Bowl while the Bengals are going home. They did that with Patrick Mahomes nursing a high ankle injury and Travis Kelce a back injury. After the victory, they combined to put Cincinnati and their cheerleaders in place in the postgame interview.

As the victorious Chiefs quarterback was being interviewed, Travis Kelce came in to deliver his verdict, saying,

"Burrowhead my a**, it's Mahomes' house"
Travis Kelce: "WOOOO! Burrowhead my ass."

Patrick Mahomes piled on further during the interview, throwing shade on Joe Burrow. The Cincinnati quarterback is known to celebrate his wins with cigars and the Kansas City quarterback ensured to mock him, saying:

"I don't think we have any cigars, but we will be ready to go in the Super Bowl."
Mahomes already taking shots at Burrow lol.

It was clear that they felt that Kansas City felt their quarterback was being disrespected all week with talk about Burrow supplanting Mahomes as the best quarterback in the AFC. Despite all his achievements and his phenomenal talent, Patrick Mahomes has won the Super Bowl, a league MVP award with another probably on the way, something Joe Burrow has not. Orlando Brown Jr. was quick to demand some respect for his quarterback after the game.

"Give him his respect. Stamp him."

Despite Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce's comments, a healthy respect on show after the game

While there was clearly some beef brewing between the two teams and the quarterbacks, there was clear recognition by both quarterbacks that they had played a close game that could have gone either way. They also realized, probably, that they might see more of each other during the upcoming seasons. At the end of the game, they shared a respectful hug.

Mahomes 🤝 Burrow.

Respect between two of the best. https://t.co/T1n8WygNvq

After heartbreak last season against Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes avenged his loss this season. He and Travis Kelce will aim to lift their second Lombardi Trophy. For the Cincinnati Bengals and their quarterback, the wait for a Super Bowl goes into another year.
