Cam Jordan "all in" on spending Saints' entire cap space for Giants' $8,000,000 QB
New Orleans Saints veteran defensive end Cam Jordan has his eyes set on bringing Jameis Winston back to the Big Easy. Jordan, entering his 15th NFL season, is determined to recruit a seasoned quarterback to guide the roster.
During Tuesday's episode of the "Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams," Cam Jordan emphasized his commitment.
"I'm gonna recruit a veteran quarterback properly when the time is right," Jordan said. "And that's gonna probably take all the cap space we have."
When Adams suggested alternatives like Kirk Cousins or convincing Matt Ryan to return from retirement, Jordan quickly dismissed both options. "Jameis. There's Russell [Wilson] over there. They got Jaxson Dart. My guy, Jameis. Come on down. I'm going all in. Jameis as a veteran quarterback, come on over."
Winston signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Giants in March after his tenure with the Saints ended following the 2023 season.
Jameis Winston thrived during his previous Saints stint before injury derailed the 2021 season

Jameis Winston previously spent four seasons in New Orleans, starting 10 games across that stretch. His most productive stint came in 2021 before an ACL injury cut his season short. Since then, Winston has bounced around depth charts and landed in New York, where he now sits behind veteran Russell Wilson and rookie Jaxson Dart.
Meanwhile, the Saints find themselves in an unusual spot after Derek Carr’s abrupt retirement due to a shoulder injury. New Orleans selected Tyler Shough in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft, but he has yet to play an NFL snap. Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener round out the depth chart and are waiting for a chance to prove themselves. Collectively, the trio has just seven career starts in the league, underscoring the urgency to add veteran leadership.
While Winston would be a familiar face in the Saints’ locker room, New York’s quarterback situation presents hurdles to any potential reunion. Wilson, who signed a one-year, $10.5 million contract with the Giants, is viewed as a stopgap while the team develops Jaxson Dart. Winston, at 31 years old, provides insurance should injuries or inconsistency affect the quarterback room.
Financially, New York doesn’t stand to gain much by dealing with Winston this season—his departure would only clear around $2 million in cap space. The Giants have structured their quarterback depth chart intentionally, giving them flexibility as Wilson’s contract expires in 2026.
