Cam Newton outlines ‘biggest, most disheartening’ thing about Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers' New York Jets are down 2-6 and have recorded five consecutive losses. The Jets had hoped that by bringing in Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers, they would finally be able to end their playoff drought, which is also the longest of any NFL, NBA, NHL or MLB teams.

Then, in his opening game last season, they lost him to a season-ending Achilles injury. When he returned in 2024, he failed to turn around the Jets' fortunes. But it's not just about the QB.

Cam Newton, in the latest episode of his podcast "4th&1," said that the Jets had tried everything. They fired Robert Saleh and added new players like Davante Adams, yet nothing's changed on the ground.

"Maybe this is it," Newton said. "It’s time for the New York Jets, including Aaron Rodgers, to start looking in the mirror. Yeah, because we’re finding ways to lose games rather than finding ways to win, and that's the biggest, most disheartening thing because we're not used to Aaron Rodgers playing like this." (38:41)

JJ Watt takes a dig at Aaron Rodgers for "fountain of youth" gimmick

Aaron Rodgers may be losing football games, but it seems he has found the famed "Fountain of Youth." Earlier, he claimed that his teammate, Thomas Morstead, had recommended cayenne pepper water to maintain his youth.

On a recent episode of the "Pat McAfee Show," Arizona Cardinals great JJ Watt called out Rodgers for his gimmicks and urged him to focus more on winning football games.

"Just go play ball, man," Watt said. "Try and get better. Let’s score some touchdowns. I’m so sick of all the talk about this s**t. They’re 2-6."

Earlier, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd had also called him out for this. He went even further and said that Rodgers was like one's uncle who showed up at Thanksgiving and then said he had a new business idea or concoction.

The Jets will take on the Houston Texans on TNF. The Texans are 6-2, while the Jets are 2-6. But according to most sources, the Jets are favored to win the game.

Could these dire conditions and the threat of a six-game losing streak light a fire under Aaron Rodgers and the Jets and help them win over Texans led by second-year player CJ Stroud?
