Cam Newton partly blames Tyreek Hill after Dolphins WR was placed in handcuffs by South Florida Police - “It puts you in danger”

Tyreek Hill and Cam Newton were never teammates, but that didn't stop Newton from throwing some criticism at Hill in the wake of his viral detainment by police. Speaking on the September 12 edition of the 4th and 1 Podcast, Newton explained why he believes that Hill should not have rolled up his window.

"When you roll the window down and roll the window back up, bro you can’t do that! Don’t do that! It puts you in danger," he said.
“This could’ve been avoided … The reason why the officers are frustrated is because you rolled your window up. He (the officer) was excessive. I’m not taking the officer’s side. I’m just saying how this situation could have played out different. There’s accountability on both sides,” he added.

Of course, Newton didn't completely side against Hill in his critique of the wide receiver's behavior.

Hill was originally pulled over because he was seen speeding. According to NFL insider Jeff Darlington, via CBS Sports, Hill was pulled over based on a "visual estimation" of the receiver driving 15 miles per hour over the speed limit. He also was not wearing a seatbelt.

Of course, lawyers are likely to have a field day with what the definition of "visual estimation" is and how an officer could identify with any accuracy Hill's precise speed. That said, not wearing a seatbelt could be easier to prove via visual confirmation and potentially by the body cam footage.

Tyreek Hill has had better weeks. While the week number has technically changed in the NFL, the wide receiver has played two games in the last five days.

In between those games, he has been detained by police and his quarterback has suffered a concussion. As a result, the wide receiver will need to balance the stress of learning what is going to happen with him legally and also who his quarterback will be in Week 3.

At this point, it appears to be a coin-flip at best if Tua Tagovailoa will play. As such, it will fall on Tyreek Hill to practice with Skylar Thompson, but also be ready to play with Tagovailoa.

It is a mystery how Hill will be able to prepare for two quarterbacks simultaneously, but suddenly, the Dolphins' top receiver has his plate full.

He also has hopes of bouncing back from a performance that saw him log just 24 receiving yards and zero touchdowns, adding additional pressure. Will Tyreek Hill lock in over the next 10 days to keep his head above water, or will he be overwhelmed?
