Cam Ward responds to reportedly being kicked out of Titans facility for arriving early at OTAs
Cam Ward has been in the limelight since the Tennessee Titans took him at No. 1 this year. However, the quarterback's eagerness to learn has reportedly resulted in him getting kicked out of the Titans' facility on a few occasions.
Ward has been regularly arriving at the team's facility at 5 a.m. to get in extra film study and prep time. ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler reported how the Titans' coaching brass, led by coach Brian Callahan, were impressed with his work ethic, so much so that they had to "literally" kick him out.
"They knew he was a hard worker coming in," Fowler said via SI. "I was told they had to kick him out of the offices at times– literally kick him out, because he'll just hang out in the coach's office wanting to get to know the offense, and get to know them and what they're running, and the whole thing. So, from a leadership component, he's been really good."
On Saturday, Ward explained how being early was part of his routine.
“It’s just my process," Ward said. "It’s how I’ve always been in college until now. It’s how I get everything in, whether it’s film, treatment-wise. I gotta get everything in to start my day, to end my day by whatever time you gotta get it done.”
Ward started his collegiate career at Incarnate Word in 2020, where he played for two seasons. He transferred to Washington State in 2022 and spent two years with the Cougars.
Ward transferred to Miami in 2024 for his final year of college football. He recorded 4,313 passing yards, 39 touchdowns, seven interceptions and four rushing touchdowns during his lone season with the Hurricanes. Ward also finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting.
A look at Cam Ward's rookie contract with the Titans

Cam Ward reportedly signed a four-year, $48,839,618 rookie contract with the Titans after he was selected at No. 1 in April. The quarterback will earn $32,159,720 as a signing bonus and will have an average annual salary of $12,209,905.
Although Ward is tipped to be the starting quarterback for the Titans next season, the team has yet to confirm its QB1. The coaching staff wants the rookie to earn the QB1 role in the offseason.
The Titans have not made the postseason since 2022, but many feel that Ward could lead them to the playoffs next season.
