CeeDee Lamb makes feelings clear on WR hierarchy in Dallas days after Cowboys sign George Pickens

After a major trade this offseason, the Dallas Cowboys have arguably the most talented duo of wide receivers in the NFL. CeeDee Lamb is possibly the best wide receiver in the league, while George Pickens played at an elite level despite not having the strongest quarterback play in Pittsburgh.

However, since the trade, there have been questions about how one of those two, almost certainly Pickens, would handle being the WR2 in the Cowboys' offensive unit. On Sunday, CeeDee Lamb broke down how he thinks the situation will unfold next year.

Lamb made clear that the Cowboys offense will not feature one alpha wide receiver, but two WR1s in himself and Pickens.

"We're both No. 1s," Lamb said in a video posted by NFL analyst Brandon Loree. "It ain't no [1A, 1B situation], none of that. It's No. 1. You look over there, you see No. 1. You look over here, you see another No. 1. So do what you gotta do with that."

Lamb has amassed 496 receptions for 6339 yards and 38 touchdowns for the Cowboys since entering the league. Meanwhile, Pickens has registered 174 receptions for 2841 yards and 12 touchdowns in three seasons.

Has a 1A, 1B situation worked in the NFL?

Yes, and no. A team can feature two elite wide receivers on the same offense. For example, the Cincinnati Bengals made it to a Super Bowl with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins both contributing.

However, despite what Cincinnati said, Chase is the WR1, not Higgins. Since entering the league, Chase has had more receptions than Higgins in every season.

Although Lamb has said the Cowboys have two WR1s, it is hard to imagine that Pickens will have more receptions, assuming both remain healthy for the entire season.
