Chad Johnson hilariously trolls his kid after being asked to foot $180 Nike bill

Chad Johnson is one of many parents with children who assume they will make purchases for them. In this case, the former NFL wide receiver's daughter, Cha'iel (Chadé), wanted him to buy her a pair of $180 Nike shoes. The former six-time Pro Bowler took to Twitter to share the hilarious interaction between him and his daughter.

In the end, Johnson didn't purchase the Nike Zoom shoes for her.

The former NFL receiver's denial of Nike shoes doesn't mean he won’t buy lavish gifts for his daughter. Last year, he bought her first car, among other presents.

Chadé attended Prairie View A&M University to start her collegiate track and field career, but it seems she could now be looking elsewhere. In a recent post on Instagram, she posted a photo of herself at LSU, signaling a sign of transfer from Prairie View A&M:

Prior to the start of her college career, Cha'iel was already a rockstar on the track. In 2017, the then-12-year-old track won a gold medal in the 800m race at the AAU Jr. Olympic Track & Field Championships. She was getting offers from colleges such as Kansas State, Nebraska, and Arizona State before attending Prairie View A&M.

Her dad was pretty good, to say the least, in his NFL career.

Johnson was selected out of Oregon State by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft. The former Oregon State wideout spent the first decade of his career with the Bengals. Overall, he recorded 751 receptions for 10,783 receiving yards and 66 touchdowns with Cincinnati. Johnson is the Bengals' all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches.

The 2011 season was the last of his NFL career. He played with the New England Patriots and recorded 15 receptions for 276 yards receiving and a touchdown catch in 15 games. He announced his retirement in 2012.

His daughter is on pace to have a successful career in track and field but apparently won't have new Nike shoes anytime soon.
