Chiefs officially promote Matt Nagy to offensive coordinator following Eric Bieniemy departure
Former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy has been named the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator for the upcoming 2023 NFL season. This is Nagy's second stint as the Chiefs' OC. He had the same role back in 2016 and 2017 before being hired as the Bears HC.
The Chiefs on Friday announced that Nagy would be taking over from Eric Bieniemy, who has taken over as Washington's OC and assistant head coach. Before being named OC for the second time around, he was the quarterback coach for the side during the 2022 campaign.
The former Bears HC spent four seasons in Chicago before being fired in 2021. His stint in Chicago was a rollercoaster ride from being named head coach of the year to going 6-11 during his final season at the helm.
